Obituary of James Wollenberg

WOLLENBERG, James of Ho-Ho-Kus passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2009. He was born in Paterson on March 25, 1924, the first son of the late James Sr. and Dora (Rubino) Wollenberg. James devoted 50 years to a career in education in Paramus; 44 years as the first Principal of Stony Lane Elementary School. He is survived by his 2 brothers, Robert and William, his sister Joan Bristow, his sister-in-law Joanne, 10 nephews and nieces, 10 great- nephews and nieces and 1 great great-niece. Visiting will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2009 from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff (www.vpfh.com). Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 13, 2009, 10:00am at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 88 E. Saddle River Road, Saddle River. Entombment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy in James's memory are asked to consider "The James Wollenberg, Sr. Family Memorial Fund" established in memory of his family at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church.
