Obituary of Carmela Gaeta

GAETA, Carmela "Millie"(nee Montenegro), a long time resident of Wyckoff, NJ died peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2008. Born on September 3, 1919 in Teaneck, NJ, Millie was one of eight siblings born to John and Frances Montenegro, immigrants from Avelino, Italy. She was raised in South Hackensack, NJ and married Anthony "Tony" Gaeta, Sr. of South Hackensack in 1940. Tony Gaeta predeceased Millie in 1997. They are the parents of three sons, the Hon. Bruce A. Gaeta of Wyckoff, retired New Jersey Superior Court Judge; Anthony Gaeta, Jr. Esq. of Raleigh, NC and Det. Sgt. Ronald Gaeta of the Wayne, NJ Police Dept. residing in Sussex, NJ. Millie also leaves nine adoring grandchildren and one loving great granddaughter, her sister, Josephine Garafalo of South Hackensack and her brother Anthony Montenegro of Port St. Lucie, FL. Millie and Tony retired in 1988 and resided in New Bern, NC, and then West Palm Beach, FL. Upon Tony's passing, Millie eventually returned to New Jersey and resided at the Fritz Reuter Lifecare Retirement Community, North Bergen, NJ. The family will receive visitors at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ on Friday, April 11, 2008, 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral service will be Saturday 9:30 am at the Funeral Home, followed by the entombment at the Hackensack Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Millie's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
