Obituary of Michael Carson

CARSON, Michael, age 96 died Tuesday, March 18, 2008. Born in Aleppo, Syria, he lived in the Passaic County area before moving to Wyckoff in 1960. Michael served his country during World War II in the United States Army, stationed in the Philipines. As proprietor of the Industrial Sewing Machine Company, he supported the clothing industry in Paterson and the surrounding areas, along with his wife Sue, for 55 years. He retired in 2001 at age 90. He is survived by Sue, his loving wife of 67 years and his daughters Patricia Carson of Wyckoff and Linda Harms of Mission Viejo, CA. He also leaves his granddaughters Michele Harms and Brandi Harms, his sisters Evelyn Giovannitti of Sun City, CA, Emily Sayeg of North Downey, CA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Michael is predeceased by his brother George Carson and his sister Marie Petricone. Visiting hours are Friday, March 21, 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 am at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. www.vpfh.com. Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
