Heidi Gilmore posted a condolence
Tuesday, July 21, 2020
Our deepest condolences on Frank's passing. He and your late mother were such wonderful people. My mother was friends with your parents (your mother, in particular) for decades. Once Mom was living at Christian Health Care Center and no longer able to attend church at West Side, your mother came to visit with her, faithfully, every Sunday. Mom so looked forward to those visits and appreciated both of your parents. May they both rest in peace.
Kind Regards,
Heidi (Albert) Gilmore and family

John and Lucy Ianacone posted a condolence

When you first invited Lucy and me to your home for lunch, I was both surprised and honored. We all fell naturally into quick discussions of faith, of politics and of art: how proud you were of your great-grandfather, Alexander Flinsch, and his wonderful paintings. We soon had a show at West Side's Gallery in the planning...step-by-step...then revised step-by-step! It was such a privilege to be able to curate your great-grandfather's works...on opening day the crowds were great and Lucy's and my pleasure in seeing your pleasure reward us to this day.
The history that you embody is truly magnificent. I searched the archives of the NYT, finding your first-person article on Krystalnacht in the November 9, 1988, issue. I keep it on my desk and re-read it every so often. You end your piece with, "Painful as it is, we must remember." So, yes, Frank, we remember you now with warmth, with pride that we knew you...we remember you now, painful as it is to know that you are gone from us. Rest always in peace, dear friend.
John and Lucy Ianacone

Frank was a couragious and brilliant intellectual. When we were novice economists at the NY Fed in the 1950's we used to play chess at lunchtime, but I never won a game. Condolences from Albert Wojnilower (age 90).

I was a member of the Dumont Chess Mates team in the 80s....in a USATE event one year, played board 2 with Frank on board 4....we had an outstanding event, finishing =2nd-3rd in the 240 team field. and top NJ team....Frank had a stellar undefeated 5-1 result, best on the team, and handled the tab at our post-tournament celebratory dinner at a local diner!
