I'm lighting a candle in memory of my Father who was my hero. There isn't a day goes by that I see or hear something that reminds me of him. I've set up a small Memorial for him and have the small urn as well as some special photos and memorabilia. I'm blessed to have found a man my Dad would approve of having similar Military experience and a similar sense of humor. Even his deep laugh reminds me of my Dad and loves history just like him. I wish that you could have met Bernie. You would have been happy to see your little girl happy and settled. I miss you very much and I'm so glad I was finally able to see your grave and marker in June of 2022 and October also. I will continue to honor you on Memorial Day when you served during WWII in 1945and even afterwards in the Air Force Reserves. You loved your Country and was deeply devoted to your family who misses you and your stories. I cherish all the times we were sailing together and our travels to England and Europe. We continue to honor those memories and your dedication to your work and family.

Dad, I miss you still very much and I think about when I can go up to your grave and finally say goodbye I never got to say since your passing. And to place flowers on your grave.

My Father was an exceptional man and very hard working but always had time for his family. Family gatherings were his favorite and being with his Brothers and his Nieces and Nephews. He loved being around his Grandchildren and his Great Grandchildren telling them stories of being a fighter pilot and his love of flying as well as sailing. He was a hero too. He had a generous heart. He was devoted to his wife of 72 years and they travelled together for many years. My Father became ill and for four years suffered from Dementia but still he had a fighting spirit and he was strong. But with Dementia the memories blur and fade and then they are gone. Trapped in his mind. He is at peace now and I picture him with all those memories intact and embracing his wife and with his other family members in Heaven. Telling stories of his days as pilot and swapping stories with his squadron buddies up there. Wishing you peace and you will live forever in our hearts and souls.
