Obituary of Catherine C. Karr

Catherine Concetta Karr of Ramsey NJ passed away peacefully at her home on May 7, 2020 at the age of 96. Catherine was the beloved wife of the late Edward Karr (1983). She was a devoted mother to her five sons, Richard (d. 1999) (Mary) (Ramsey, NJ), Gary (Ventura, CA), Craig (Jeri) (Euless, TX), James (Hawthorne, NJ), and Edward (Ramsey, NJ). She was the adored grandmother of Lindsay Thornton, Emily Karr, Anita Karr, Jennifer, and Jeffery Karr, and proud great grandmother to Emery, Oscar, Sofia, and Ryder. Catherine is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Serafino and Frances in 1923, Catherine spent most of her childhood in Lyndhurst, NJ before moving back to Brooklyn. It was there that she met her future husband Edward, and where they married. They moved to Ramsey, NJ in 1945 where she spent the rest of her life as a devoted homemaker to her family. Catherine was a dedicated and caring mom who was very proud of her family. She was a long time member of the Fardale Trinity Church where she partook in many activities supporting her long time faith in Jesus and her dedication to the Bible. Catherine was incredibly charismatic and a staunch defender for the causes she embraced throughout her lifetime including Pro-Life advocacy and American Patriotism. She loved to sing in the church choir, had a smile that just lit up a room, and was considered ‘One in a Million’ by many who knew her. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, all services for Catherine will be privately held, with a memorial service planned for a later date.
