I will always hold close Mr. Vitolo's kind smile, his absolute love of family, his kindness, and wonderful heart and soul. I remember him at my summer barbecues entertaining with stories and music. He always came ready with sneakers to take part in our casual soccer-playing, even up until last year. He always invited me to Vitolo family holiday events with a personal invitation.
Some fun things that l remember: Playing my guitar to accompany his keyboard on Italian songs, while he spoke the chord changes to me, as he played; His preparation of baked ziti and lasagna dinners; His accordion; Easter specialty cookies and pies; NY Yankee game broadcasts that played simultaneously on two TVs in the house; Attending local bocce events and seeing the horrified look on opponents' faces when they realized that they would play his team, Potenza, next; Enjoyment of Waldwick Italian-American Club events; His uncanny ability to fix anything electrical, mechanical--and everything else in between--at a moment's notice.
He will always be remembered, and will always be in our hearts.

Remembering "Mr Vitolo" at the backyard barbecues at Angela's. He was a man of many talents. We heard the stories about his success on the Bocce court, but the Memorial Day he played the piano was so amazing ! A proud father, a diehard Yankee and Giant fan, a man who could fix anything and he always had time to talk to us. There are so many stories as the time we spent with him a few times a year was just a glimpse into the wonderful and complete life he enjoyed and how he touched us all these many years.
We will miss him terribly but God called him away as we suspect he needed an anchor on the Eternal Bocce All-Star team.
Rest in peace as your life lives on in the loving family you raised and friends that were honored to have gotten to know you.
The Slepian Family.

Many of us who have had the blessing of Tony in our lives, were graced with his kindness, generosity, spirit of family and friendship. Tony was an exemplary human being and always will be in our memories. Members of our Italian American Social Club of Waldwick may recall at one of our monthly meetings during our member storytelling highlight…when all of Tony’s family, including grandchildren attended. Respectfully, no one could hear a pin drop as he told his stories of strife to make a better life. Truly heroic in many ways. I was always moved whenever I visited Tony and his dear Catherine because I knew I was in the presence of true, deep, admiring, supportive love. Together they emitted an aura of light I could feel. Tony’s broad spectrum of talents impressed me. He fearlessly embraced technology, art, sportsmanship, comradery, family values, he could solve problems, continued his learning, and his music talents amazed. A musicologist acquaintance of mine learned much from Tony’s wide Italian musical repertoire. Tony was generous and gave many a taste of authentic Italian music. The sounds of his accordian will ring in my memory as a soundtrack to the pride I have with my Italian-American heritage. Professore Tony, you taught us by example how to live well. Love always and condolences to all of the family Andrea and Perry

To the Vitolo Family:
Our hearts and prayers go out to all of you at this difficult time. He was a great man who just enjoyed being around family and friends with always a smile on his face. I will miss his kindness and so many of the stories he shared with us at the IASCW as well as some of the tips he gave me on playing Bocce the game he mastered over the years.I would always ask him to play the Accordion at most of our events and of course he never declined to play. I will miss him dearly at Sunday mass and he will always be remembered as a shinning lite in all our hearts and soles.
When a great man dies, for years the light he leaves behind him, lies on the paths of men. - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
The Santo Family-God Bless
