So sorry to hear of Esther's passing. My mother (Hortense) and she were roommates at CHCC for many years till Mom passed in June 2017. I visited mom frequently and therefore saw and spoke with Esther frequently. She was the voice of reason and common sense--a pleasure to spend time with. I always felt that we were so lucky to have Esther as a roommate; I wouldn't even consider for moment switching rooms so that mom might have a window bed; and that was because I didn't want to lose Esther. I'm sorry I never got back there to see her before she passed; but I will remember her forever.
A special word to her son Steve who I also saw at CHCC often. So sorry Steve that I never made it back to see Mom. Hope you are well and the your family is also well and stays that way.
Esther will remain in my prayers.

While I was not her primary chaplain, occasionally I did lead worship on Tuesdays at Heritage Manor, where Esther was a true shepherd of the flock of worshippers. She would circle the room in her motorized chair and escort worshippers toward the door, until a transport assistant would take each back to his/her room. Esther was a faithful, positive, caring soul who will be missed, but whose spiritual legacy will always be remembered with love. Alleluia. Rev. Kathy Jo Blaske, CHCC Long Term Care Chaplain

Esther will be deeply missed at CHCC. She was a woman after my own heart—she loved being outside in the sun. Never saw her without a book in her hand or in her lap. She was so special!

To Esther's Family,
The Christie/Rosner Families send their sympathies to all of you on the loss of your mother and grandmother. We came to know Esther when our husband/father lived down the hall from her at CHCC West. She was truly a delightful person with a sharp mind and a kind heart. When I visited my dad monthly, it was always a special treat to see Esther and to have a chance to talk to her. She loved her family and could not have been nicer. We were all truly saddened to hear of her passing. Hers was clearly a life well led. May your memories of her comfort you.

Esther was the first person to greet and talk with my Mom when she arrived at CHCC. You could always count on Esther to tell you what was happening on campus. I miss sharing time with Esther and her family.
Rest in peace. My condolences to all the Beekmans.

Esther was a second mother to the Spencer kids. I admired her grit, determination and intelligence. I also learned some knitting techniques from her. I will cherish those memories forever.
I will miss her and send all of you my condolences.
In sympathy,
Vicki Spencer Campbell
