Obituary of G. Bruce Algera

George “Bruce” Algera, of Mahwah, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2020. Born in Paterson, he lived in Valley Cottage 10 years before moving to Mahwah 6 years ago. Bruce worked as a draftsman for BASF for 18 years then as a contractor before retiring in January 2018. Bruce is survived by his loving wife Maria, his beloved children Jason Algera (Ambar), Jeff Algera (Katie), Brett Algera (Katie), his loving step-children Dina Velez, Patrick Clohessy (Katherine) Michael Clohessy (Alyssa) and 8 grandchildren. Raleigh, Hudson, Alex, Jon, Anthony, Brody, Colin & Brooklyn. He also leaves his sister Faith Tanis (Keith). Along with Mother-in-law, Sisters-in law, Brothers-in-law nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. Predeceased by his parents George & Doris Algera. All services for Bruce will be private. The family invites family and friends to join them online at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home of Wyckoff Facebook page, www.vpfh-fb.com, at 12:30 pm on Tuesday to participate in the graveside service.
