Obituary of Maureen T Gallagher

Maureen T. Gallagher, age 95 of Hawthorne, NJ died peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Villa Marie Claire, Saddle River.  Maureen was born in Paterson, NJ and had resided in Towaco, NJ and Manchester, NJ before moving to Hawthorne. Prior to her retirement from PNC Bank in Clifton, NJ, she was employed for 40 years in Banking.  Maureen was a member of numerous clubs and organizations, particularly the New Jersey Bank Quarter Century Club, Leisure Knoll American Irish Club, The Footlighters, and the Travel Club, the Organ Club and the Columbiettes of St John’s Church in Lakehurst.  Maureen is survived by her daughter, Gerri Harold and her husband, Matt of Upper Saddle River and her son, Tom Gallagher and his wife, Prempree of Boonton, NJ.  Maureen is also survived by her dear friend, Elaine Miske. Maureen was predeceased by her husband, William Gallagher in 1996, her siblings, John Fitzpatrick, Ethel Holmes and Gerald Fitzpatrick.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 7, 2019 4 – 8 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Church of the Presentation, 271 W. Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, NJ 07458.  A private cremation will be held. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Maureen’s memory may be made to Holy Name Health Care Foundation for Villa Marie Claire, 718 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ 07666.
