Obituary of James Pallone

James Pallone “Jay”, 75, of Ridgewood, died on Saturday, February 2, 2019.  Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, he moved to Ridgewood, NJ in 1971.

 

Jay was a Spice Broker for over 50 years.  He was a member of the American Spice Trade Association, serving on the governing board for several years.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in the Bronx.  He was an avid baseball fan growing up a NY Giants fan and then becoming a life-long Mets Fan. He was known for being a constant jokester and always had many stories to tell. He shared a passion with his wife for collecting antiques and always dreamed of owning a sky blue 1957 Chevy Bel Air.  Jay was a music fanatic, especially of Doo Wop, and passed his passion with pride to his children.  One constant that always remained in his life were his weekly visits to the Fireplace restaurant in Paramus, which his children continue to this day.

 

Jay is survived by his children: John, Elisa and her husband Ralph Venturini, Louise and her husband Joseph LeBert, and Michael and his wife Kathryn Renee English, all of Ramsey, NJ; his beloved grandchildren: Anthony, Andrei, Nicholas, Lauren, Sophia, Joseph, and Maria.  Jay is also survived by his sister Louise Pallone of Mahwah, NJ.  Jay was predeceased by his high school sweetheart, soul mate, and wife of 37 years Marie in 2000, and his beloved baby boy and namesake, James, in 1970.

 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 4 - 8 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home,  www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. 

 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1 Passaic St., Ridgewood, NJ  07450.   Interment will follow at the Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
