Obituary of Connie Yoke

Connie “Marna” Yoke, 92 years young, passed away on January 8, 2019. She was a resident of Wyckoff for 75 years, and volunteered her time delivering Meals on Wheels and helping at Eva’s Kitchen. Connie was known to those around her as a fashion icon, always the best-dressed of the group. She loved to travel, follow the Yankees, and keep all those close to her in touch. Above all else, Marna cherished her family; she loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren immensely.

Connie leaves behind her children: Janie (Jack) Kleinert of Franklin Lakes, NJ, Richard (Susan) Yoke of Highlands Ranch, CO, Darcy (Steve) Snyder of Omaha, NE; and nephew: Kevin (Debbie) McCauley of Encinitas, CA. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren: Katelyn (Alex) Finston, Carlene (Dan) Glatthorn, John Kleinert, Kelly (Joe) Ventresca, Preston Yoke, MacKenzie (Ben) Brown, Michael (Megan) Snyder and John (Amanda) Snyder. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Andrew, Amanda, Ashley, John Raymond, Kate and Judd. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Wilbert “Shubie” Yoke in 2004, and her grandson, Logan Yoke, in 2014. Many others were lucky to have known her.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 13th from 4pm to 8pm at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, Wyckoff.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 14th at 10am at the Grace United Methodist Church, 555 Russell Ave, Wyckoff. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marna’s memory to Meals on Wheels, Attn Vicki Lappe, 730 Highview Dr, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
