Obituary of Rita M Laraia

Rita Marie Laraia of Waldwick, died Wednesday, November 21, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at her home, just prior to her 88^th birthday on November 26th.  She was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY having moved to Waldwick over 60 years ago.  Rita was a parishioner of Church of the Nativity, Midland Park. Following her graduation from the Traphagen School of Design in New York, NY, she worked as a seamstress for Bergdorf Goodman, New York, NY.  Following her retirement as a seamstress, she became the proprietor of Waldwick Beauty Supply, which she managed until 2002. Rita is survived by her loving children; Rita Ann Morris and Rocco Laraia, both of Waldwick, her two granddaughters; Victoria Lararia of Mahwah and Britney Laraia of Waldwick and her brother, Thomas Ursetti of Waldwick.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Rita was predeceased by her husband, Henry Laraia in 2002. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 25^th, from 1 to 5 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ.  Prayers will begin on Monday, November 26^th at 9 AM at the Funeral Home with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 AM at Church of the Nativity, 315 Prospect St., Midland Park, NJ.  The interment will follow at St. Luke’s Cemetery, Ho Ho Kus, NJ.  As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Rita’s memory may be made to Waldwick Volunteer Ambulance Corps, P.O.
