Obituary of Teodora Salvemini

Teodora Salvemini (nee Roda), beloved wife of the late Gaetano, of Franklin Lakes, NJ, passed away on October 30th, 2018.

Teodora was born on December 4, 1928 in Calabria Italy.  Teodora is the beloved mother of Laura Altomonte and husband Domenick, Catherine Caputo and husband Sam, and Francesca Feulner and husband Robert.   She is the beloved grandmother of Joanne Altomonte, Gregory Caputo, and Robert Feulner.  She was predeceased by her precious granddaughter, Lisa Altomonte in 2002.

Teodora, known as Dora, to her friends and family came to the United States in 1949 when she was 21 years old.  She met her husband in 1952 and married him just two months later.  They were happily married for 44 years until he died at the age of 72.  Dora worked as a seamstress in coat factories in Hoboken, Lyndhurst, and Garfield for over 40 years.  She loved to cook and to take care of her family and her grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be held at Most Blessed Sacrament, 787 Franklin Lakes Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ on November 2nd at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Madonna Cemetery, Fort Lee, NJ.  Friends may visit at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ on November 1st from 4 to 7 pm.
