Virginia Tumio

Obituary of Virginia Tumio

After the passing of her best friend and twin sister, Virginia wrote, “But one thing I know is that you'll be one of first people I'll see, when He calls for me. With that beautiful smile ...standing there with open arms.”

Virginia “Gin” Tumio, mother, Godmother, aunt, sister and friend has reunited with her twin sister Veronica and her beloved son Joey in the afterlife. She passed peacefully on Monday, October 1st at the age of 89 years old. Virginia was born in East Harlem, New York on April 10th, 1929. She was a long-time resident of Hackensack, NJ.

Virginia, known as the “fire cracker” of the two twins, always spoke her mind, burnt her food for the holidays, and loved every single one of her children with all her heart. She was a great aunt, quite literally and figuratively. She had a way of making someone feel better about anything. She was honest, direct and cared deeply about her family. Her sense of sarcasm, practicality and wit will be dearly missed.

Virginia is survived by her son John, her daughter Dee, her brother Bob, as well as many nephews, nieces, and a host of other family and friends.

“So. Until the next time we meet....I LOVE YOU FOREVER.” – Virginia Tumio
