Obituary of Scott Edward Mault

Scott Edward Mault, age 39, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at his home.  He was born in Ridgewood, NJ, grew up in Wyckoff, lived in Franklin Lakes and most recently Midland Park.  Scott graduated from St. Elizabeth School, Wyckoff and was a 1997 graduate of Don Bosco Preparatory High School, Ramsey.  He attended Bergen Community College where he discovered his passion for cooking and went on to graduate in 2000 from the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, NY. Countless individuals have had the privilege of experiencing Scott’s talents as a Chef, throughout his 23 year career with the Market Basket in Franklin Lakes.  He was a former parishioner of St. Elizabeth’s RC Church.  Scott was predeceased by his mother, Margaret “Marge” Mault in 1991.  Scott will be dearly missed by his father and step-mother, Edward T. and Kathleen Mault of Tampa, FL, his sister, Jessica Mault of Alexandria, VA, his paternal grandparents, Edward F. and Elaine Mault of Odessa, FL and his Aunt and Uncle, Sharon Mault Weir and Bruce Weir of Odessa, FL.  The family will receive friends on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018, 10:00 am at St. Elizabeth RC Church, 700 Wyckoff Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ.  The interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Scott’s memory may be made to St. Francis Society Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 261614, Tampa, FL 33685-1614.
