Obituary of David Halliday

David Halliday age 78, formerly of Waldwick, NJ, peacefully passed away with his family at his side on August 31, 2018.  David was born in Englewood, NJ, was a graduate of Dumont High School and lived in Waldwick for many years. He will be forever missed by his daughters Debra Corvalan and husband Rich, and Christine Scavone and husband Ed both of Mahwah; his brother John Halliday and wife Theo, his sister Diane Wood and husband Rich.  “Gramps” will be sadly missed by his 7 cherished grandchildren, Jack, Madison, Nick, Justin, Paige, Kevin and Luke and his many loving nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara, of whom he was married to for 41 years, and his parents Howard and Anne Halliday.  David was a Printer at Westbury Press in Englewood, NJ, and retired in 2003 to spend time relaxing on the beach with his family, playing golf, fishing and boating.  The family would like to sincerely thank all of the wonderful people who in many ways helped him live a happy and full life.  The family will receive friends on Sept. 5th at 2-4 and 7-9 at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ.  A Funeral Service will be celebrated Sept. 6th at 10AM also at Vander Plaat Funeral Home.  Interment will be held at George Washington Cemetery in Paramus, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of David can be made to the Foundation Giving at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC.
