Lisa Rankin

Obituary of Lisa Rankin

Lisa Kangeter Rankin, 55, of Wyckoff, NJ passed away on Friday, August 24th after losing her battle with cancer.  Cancer may have won this battle, but it did not win the war, as her Spirit was never conquered and she never gave up.

Lisa grew up in West Babylon, NY to parents Edward B. Kangeter Sr and Stella V (Meigel). She loved singing with her High School Choir, led by Wally Alesse, and always counted herself an Eagle.  She moved to Florida and lived there for a number of years before returning to New Jersey.  She worked at Brogan Cadillac of Ridgewood for a number of years, gaining many wonderful friends.  In 2007, she became a Nana to Aynslei, lovingly nicknamed "Nana's Girl", she adored and loved every moment of it.

She is survived by her Daughter, Nicole' Uzelac-Brousseau of Massachusetts, granddaughter Aynslei, also of Massachusetts, a Granddog, Duke, and Skylar, of Connecticut. She is also survived by her siblings, siblings in law, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.  Both of her parents and a nieces preceded her in death.  Word is that she is currently organizing a family reunion in heaven as you read this, while quoting lines from National Lampoons' Christmas Vacation.

Lisa didn't want many to know of her condition, but I think she would feel better is we all loved our families a little more, and sang together, so in lieu of flowers, make some music, and share some love with your Mom.

A Gathering of Family and Friends to celebrate her life will be Saturday from 1-3pm at Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff, NJ.
