Obituary of Joan M McCaffrey

Joan M. McCaffrey, died Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at her home in Wanaque.  Joan was born in North Bergen and had been a long time resident of Waldwick before moving to Wanaque in 2017.  Joan was a parishioner of Church of the Presentation, Upper Saddle River.  Most recently Joan was enjoying time with her husband and family, at home and on Long Beach Island. Prior to her retirement, she was an Administrative Assistant at Ramapo College, School of Business.  Joan is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Joseph J. McCaffrey, her adoring children: Chris McCaffrey and his wife, Lynn Holley of Ridgefield, CT, Sharon McCaffrey and her husband, Robert Botschka of Maplewood, NJ, and Susan McCaffrey and her husband, Bob Warner of Brooklyn, NY and her loving sister, Lois Petrich of North Bergen, NJ.  Carrying on Joan’s legacy are her five grandchildren: Cate, Julia, Abigail, Griffin and Josephine, who were the highlight of Joan’s life.  Joan will be dearly missed by all who knew her.  Visiting for Joan will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 7-9 PM and on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018, 10:00 AM in the Community Room at Church of the Presentation, 271 W. Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, NJ 07458. (Please enter the Community Room from the rear of the Church complex). The interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ 07430.  Memorial donations in Joan’s memory may be made to Covenant House, Times Square Station, P.O.
