Obituary of Richard A. Lanza

Richard A. Lanza passed away peacefully on Friday, August 3, 2018 at the age of 89. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a resident of Rutherford and Hawthorne before moving to Allendale. Before retiring, Richard was an Industrial Lumber Salesman for Kaslander Lumber in Newark and also worked at Hoboken Floors as a Sample Production Manager. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Secaucus UNICO. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Theresa, dear father of Richard Lanza, his wife Josephine; Lesley Diorio, her husband Philip and the late Linda Lanza Kamalzadeh; two grandchildren Alyssa and Richard; sister-in-law Mary Spitaletta, her husband Edward and many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst.
