Obituary of Joan Sokoly

Joan Sokoly passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the age of 86. She was predeceased by her husband Ernest in 2014. They were married for 63 years. Joan and Ernie resided in Waldwick for 54 happy years.  Joan was devoted to her family; daughters Lynne Radicke, her husband Klaus and their daughter Larissa; Karin Guglielmino, her husband Carl; her son Wayne, his wife Janet and their children Chris, Scott, and Katie.  She was a caring and dedicated support for each of her children’s families.  Joan was truly proud of each of her grandchildren and they brought her great joy.  She was a member of the Wyckoff Reformed Church for over 60 years. Joan was a great story teller with a wonderful imagination.  She loved to travel with her husband. For many years, she enjoyed spending summers at their cottage on Lake Champlain. She loved life and will be missed very much by the family that she loved so much.  Visitation will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The funeral service will commence at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joan’s memory may be made to the Christian Health Care Center, 301 Sicomac Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
