The loss of a cherished loved one is the most devastating experiences a family can face. At times, the loss may seem unbearable. Please know that there are family and friends who care and more importantly Psalm 34:18 tells us that "God is near to those that are broken at heart. He is the God of all comfort. I want to offer my condolences to all of Joyce's loved ones, in particular Joe, Peggy, Larry and Melodie. The Lisbonas were our neighbors on Lockwood Drive the entire time I was growing up, and Harry was my dad's best friend. Harry would keep our TVs running, and my dad worked on Harry's cars. Our families vacationed together at Ocean Beach on the Jersey Shore several times when we were children. I still remember Joyce's dad making clam chowder for us and can still see Mrs. Seadyke's big Buick. Lockwood Drive was a pretty close knit community in the 50's and 60's, and it seemed as if I had many "mothers" on our street. Joyce was always the closest thing I had to being a real second mom, and I knew I could always depend on her if I needed anything. Joyce was always "no nonsense" but always kind and with a wonderful laugh I can still hear. I still have my original Social Security card from when Joyce helped me get my first job working for Pathmark in Paramus restocking the curtain department. I know Joyce was truly loving mom, and she must have been a wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother. Joe and I are both 64 now, and the most beloved people from our youth have been passing away one by one. They have called this the Greatest Generation, and Joyce was one of the best of the best. Certainly the most loving of them all.
