Obituary of Alberta Vandenberg

Vandenberg, Alberta (nee Ruit) “Bert” age 81 of Midland Park, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, November 17, 2017.  Born and raised in Prospect Park, Bert was married to Stanley Vandenberg in 1956. They raised their family and lived for more than 60 years in Midland Park. She was a member and secretary of the Irving Park CRC in Midland Park and then later a member and secretary of the Cedar Hill CRC in Wyckoff.  She enjoyed the Coffee Break Bible Study at Cedar Hill Church. Surviving is loving husband of 61 years, Stanley, her devoted children, Deb, Bernie and Lora Albertson. Bert deeply loved her four grandchildren, Kyle, Megan, Ben and Jack.  She was pre-deceased by her three sisters, Madeline Laauwe, Hester Van Buiten and Fran Steenwyk and her brother, Bud Ruit.  The Vandenberg family will receive friends on Tuesday, 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home,(www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff.  Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 am at the Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church, 422 Cedar Hill Avenue, Wyckoff.  Interment will be private in the Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bert’s name may be made to the Eastern Christian School Association, 50 Oakwood Avenue, North Haledon, NJ 07508 or the Christian Health Care Center, 301 Sicomac Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
