Obituary of Anthony J Galante

Anthony J. Galante, age 74, of Mahwah, died Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Valley Hospital, in the presence of his loving family.  He was a parishioner of St. Gabriel’s RC Church, Saddle River.  Anthony began his working career, which expanded over 30 years with Mobil Oil in New York, NY and at the time of his retirement, was serving as General Manager at their Fairfax, VA location.  Following his retirement, he served as the Chief Information Officer for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission in Rockville, MD.  Anthony is survived by his loving wife, Carol A. Galante of Mahwah, his two daughters, Kimberly D’Esposito and her husband, Vincent of Royersford, PA and Gina Geist and her husband, David of Gainesville, VA.  Left to carry on his legacy are his four grandchildren: Nicholas and Christa D’Esposito and Ava and Anthony Geist.  Visiting will be held on Friday from 6-8 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ.   A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, 10:00 am at St. Gabriel RC Church, 88 East Saddle River Rd., Saddle River, NJ.  The entombment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Anthony’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, Bergen Unit, 20 Mercer Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601.
