Obituary of Dorothy Lena Couser

Dorothy Lena Couser, (nee Vriesema) age 80 of Hubert, NC formerly of Midland Park died Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at her home.  Born in Midland Park she lived here most of her life, until 1999 when she moved to North Carolina.

Dorothy was a Bookkeeper for the Ridgewood Medical Center, Paramus, NJ for ­­­­10 years before her retirement.   She was a member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Hubert, NC and a former member of the Faith Reformed Church, Midland Park.

She is survived by her three children, Donald Couser and his wife Elizabeth of Vernon, NJ,  David Couser and his wife Alice of Newport, RI and Doreen Lustig and her husband Barry of Richlands, NC.   Also surivivng are her four grandchildren,  Jarrod, Christine, Bradley and Abby, her brother, Henry Vriesema of Mahwah and her two sisters, Ann Leentijes of North Haledon and Patricia Stinson of Prospect Park, NJ. She was predeceased by her husband Richard Couser in 1995, her son, Douglas Couser in 2014, brother Peter Vriesema and her sister, Emma Kredit.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 18th from 4:00 – 6:30 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.  A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 pm.  A burial of cremains will take place on Saturday 10 am at Valleau Cemetery, Ridgewood, NJ.
