Obituary of Caroline Marie Lo Russo

LoRusso, Caroline Marie (nee Hylla) age 87 of Park Ridge died peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2017.  Born and raised in Flushing, NY, she lived there until moving to Nanuet in 1997 and lived her final years in Park Ridge.  Carol was a Beautician and Manicurist for many years and in her later career worked for Boscov’s in Nanuet, NY.  She was an active member of St. Anthony’s Senior Citizens in Nanuet where she was a parishioner for many years. Carol Loved cooking, spending time with her family and taking spontaneous road trips with her husband.  Surviving are her devoted children; Dale and her husband John Shields and Douglas and his wife Lisa. She also leaves her 7 adoring grandchildren, John, Joe, Kim, Patrick, Mary, Michael and Lauren and 10 great grandchildren.  Carol was pre-deceased by her husband of 49 years, Ralph G. LoRusso in 2000.  The LoRusso family will receive family and friends on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, 5:00 until 9:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ.  Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, 10:00 AM at St. Anthony’s R.C. Church, 36 West Nyack Road, Nanuet, NY.   Interment will follow in the church Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Carol’s name may be made to; Ascend Hospice, 70 Jackson Drive, Suite 200, Cranford, NJ 07016.
