Obituary of Donald Zubrod

Donald Edward Zubrod, age 83, of Locust Grove, GA and formerly of Wyckoff and Fair Lawn, died on Saturday, May 5, 2007. Donald was Executive Vice President of Admanthos Shipping Agency, New York, NY. Concurrent with his involvement in the shipping industry he was a maritime arbitrator for 30 years, Past President of the Society of Maritime Arbitrators of NY (SMANY), BMICC, and the Liberty Ship John Brown Association. Donald served as a Merchant Marine from 1942 to 1945 and was a member of the American Merchant Marine Veterans. He was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church of Wyckoff. He is survived by his dear daughter Donna Zubrod-Henderson of Cary, NC, his son John William Zubrod of Locust Grove, GA, his brother Richard Zubrod of Farmingdale, Long Island, NY and his four grandchildren; Jessica, Iain, Christine and Kyle. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Isabelle (nee Spanos) in 1993. Funeral service, Thursday, 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 467 Grandview Ave. Wyckoff. Interment, Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery. Visiting, Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff.
