Obituary of John Mahoney

John C. Mahoney, age 70 of Little Egg Harbor, NJ died Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Southern Ocean County Hosptial, Manakawkin. Born in Bronx, New York he lived in Butler before moving to Little Egg Harbor 15 years ago. John was a graduate of St. Pius School in 1950, Rice High School in 1954 both in the Bronx, NY and St John's University, Queens in 1959. John was a US Army veteran. John was a Manager of Postal Affairs for the US Post Office, Whippany prior to his retirement in 1993. He was a former parishioner of St. Anthony's RC Church, Butler and was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 943, Butler, NJ. John volunteer in numerous soup kitchens in the Little Egg Harbor area. Surviving are his two daughters, Margaret Stagg of Wyckoff and Krista Pinkin of Westfield, two sons, Patrick of Ashville, NC and Kevin of Little Egg Harbor, a brother, Neil of Boynton Beach, FL and a sister, Eileen Reilly of Morristown. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and John's companion, Dolores Mulvey of Little Egg Harbor. Visiting Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral Mass Wednesday 10 AM at St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Interment St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
