Obituary of Francisco de Guzman, Jr.

DE GUZMAN, Francisco "Frank" U., Jr., MD, devoted husband and beloved father, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at the age of 68. Born in Manila, Philippines, he lived in Westchester, NY before moving to Mahwah in 1983. Dr. De Guzman was the Attending Internist / Cardiologist at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood and Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus. He also had a private practice in Mahwah with his wife, Dr. Virginia Hughes de Guzman. He was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church of Wyckoff. He is survived by his beloved wife Dr. Virginia H. de Guzman to whom he was married for 33 years. He is also survived by his three loving children; Christina de Guzman Haas and her husband Martin of Munich, Germany, Elizabeth de Guzman Chan and her husband Howard of San Jose, CA, and Mark de Guzman of Cliffside Park. He is also survived by his six siblings; Perfecto de Guzman of Paramus, Nenita de Guzman of Jersey City, Benjamin, Silverio and Roberto de Guzman, and Leticia Bernardo of Manila, Philippines. Visitation is on Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Monday, 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff. Prayers will be offered on Tuesday, 9 AM at the funeral home followed by a 10 AM mass at St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave. Wyckoff. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center "For Colon Cancer", P.O.
