We are saddened by the loss of our friend George. He was very close to my dad Jiggs Remo until his death in 1983. I know they are once again planning new offensive and defensive strategies George will always be remembered for his dedication to the Wyckoff Football Program and his affiliation to The Ramapo High School. Rest in peace George.

To George's Family, We were so sorry to hear of George's death. He was a good man with a heart of gold, especially for the kids. He was coach for our two boys in Wyckoff Football, and I worked with him at Ramapo for many, many years--lots of good times. He will be missed. Love, Alice Petkus and Ralph Mason

Brian and Ann (Buckles) Dowling posted a condolence

We are so very sorry to hear about Georges passing on December 22nd and even sorrier that we didnt receive the news until today (Wednesday, Decmeber 27th, at just about the time that the funeral service was ending) so that we were unable to be present at the visiting hours or funeral to express our condolences to his family members. George was a member of the same graduating class at Ramapo as both my husband, Brian, and I, and since we have lived in Wyckoff for the last 22 years, we have seen him here and there from time to time. I saw him the most because Id often run into him at the Parkwood Deli in Midland Park, which is close to where I work. Id come in for my daily coffee and/or lunch, and hed be sitting on a stool at the back, having his cup of coffee, breakfast, or lunch and bantering with the delis owner, Roger. It was always so great to talk with him and catch up on life. In fact, the last time I saw him was in late November...he was there picking up food for the snack bar for one of his football games, and I had a great talk with him. All four of our daughters went to Ramapo and were watched over there by George. He was devoted to the school and to the kids who went to it...practical and upfront and filled with the most generous spirit. We were all lucky to have him as part of our lives, and he will be greatly missed. If any type of memorial fund is established in his name, we would be grateful to hear of it so that we could make a contribution. Again, our deepest sympathy to his children, Caroline and Richard, and to his sister, Catherine, and brothers, John and George. May we all know that he continues to watch over those he cared for from a higher place now. With great sadness, Ann and Brian Dowling
