Obituary of Gertrude Russo

RUSSO, Gertrude P. (nee Ciulla) age 86 of West Milford formerly Waldwick died peacefully on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Gert was born in Jersey City and lived in Waldwick before moving to West Milford. Most recently Gert retired from Bald Eagle Manor Builders as a sales associate. In her early career she was a service representative for New Jersey Bell in Ridgewood. Gert was a parishioner of Queen of Peace R. C. Church in West Milford and a former member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Surviving is her beloved husband of 64 years, Joseph M. Russo, her devoted children, Gail A. Rifflard-Krumscheid of Ringwood and Mark W. Russo and his wife Peggy. Gert also leaves her grandchildren, Michael, Scott and his wife Nargis, Joseph, Matthew and Jonathan, her great grandchildren, Matthew, Nicolas, Julia and Brandon, and her brother Vincent Ciulla. Gert was pre-deceased by her son-in-law Robert Krumscheid in 2006 and her sister Gaye DiStefano in 2009. Funeral mass will be held Monday, 10:00 am at the Church of the Nativity, 315 Prospect Street, Midland Park. Interment will follow in the Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah. Visitng is Sunday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff.
