Obituary of William Wedemeier

WEDEMEIER, William, Jr. age 85 of Waldwick, died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Bill was born in New York City on August 17, 1924. He was a Waldwick resident for the past 56 years. Before his retirement in 1987, he was a precision grinder for Singer-Kearfott in West Paterson. Bill was a member of the Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ridgewood. Surviving is his loving wife of 65years, Margaret "Peg" (nee Mulry) and his devoted daughters, Carol Warren, Coreen and her husband Mike Messina, Dianne and her husband Karl Effertz and Arleen and her husband Jiri Hlavaty. Bill was pre-deceased by his son Alan W. Wedemeier in 1996. He was the proud grandfather/great grandfather to Donna, David, Kai, Keith, Kurt, Kara and Amanda and Jason, Olivia, Zachary and Maxim. Also survived by his nephew Bill Singleton. Bill is predeceased by his sister Johanna Singleton and his nephew Bob Singleton. Funeral services will be held Friday 10:00 am at the Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 155 Linwood Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ 07450. Interment will follow in the George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. Visiting is Thursday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff.
