Obituary of Ruth Peschken

Peschken, Ruth (nee Smith), of Midland Park, NJ died Saturday, October 3, 2009. Born in Paterson, NJ, she lived in Stroudsburg, PA, Culver Lake, NJ and Rochelle Park, NJ before moving to Midland Park four years ago. Ruth was a member of the Van Riper Ellis/Broadway Baptist Church in Fair Lawn. Prior to her retirement in 1980, she served as secretary to Pastor Omar Barth of the Broadway Baptist Church, Paterson, NJ for 22 years. Surviving is her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth E. and Robert Barton of Ramsey, NJ, her son and daughter-in-law, Donald A. and Lorraine Peschken of Lynchburg, VA and one sister, Mildred Kassner of Port Richey, FL. She is also survived by 3 grandsons: David D. Barton, Dallas H. and Denver A. Peschken: five great grandchildren: Dylan, Bethany, Zachary, Liberty Joy, and Braxton Peschken. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Henry C. Peschken on February 14, 2005. Visiting is Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral Service, Thursday, 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment, Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson, NJ.
