Barbara Tirrell Connelly and family posted a condolence

Our family was so lucky to have been called friend by Addie and Bob Shipp. I fondly remember the Sunday afternoon and evenings in the summer when we shared time swimming in their pool and learning about the natural surroundings at their home in Mahwah. Addie always had time to listen to our stories about school and especially Girl and Boy Scouting that my brother, Scott, and sister, Gail, were also involved in. Addie cared about her world and would spend time teaching others to care about it, too. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

I mostly remember Rob, Mrs. Shipp's son, as a sketch that Rob made of my sister Joan hung in the entry of our house for what seemed my lifetime. I was the peach-fuzz faced kid four years younger than Rob, but had the chance to "hang-around", maybe not knowing if my company really was desired. I knew of Mrs. Shipp as a respected elder to me, partially because of her presence at the church only a block and a half from my home, and of course, her work with the Girl Scouts, as scouting was a huge endeavor for the Usinowicz family. It sounds like Mrs. Shipp filled so many lives with contributions, and has left a wonderful legacy of her life and her works. George Usinowicz, Durango, Colorado
