Obituary of Raymond Taylor
TAYLOR, Raymond John, age 88, died peacefully surrounded by his entire family on Saturday, April 25, 2009.
Born in Union City, he lived for many years in Ridgewood before moving to Wyckoff.
Raymond graduated from St. Peter's College, Jersey City in 1940. He attended Naval Officer Training at Notre Dame University and graduated Fordham University in 1952. He was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II where he was captain of an LST. He deployed troops in North Africa and saw action in the invasion of Southern France and the South Pacific.
After the war, he married Lucrecia Grayce (Franco) and together they raised six children: Stephen, Susan, Jane, Brian, Patricia, and Elizabeth. He practiced as a child psychologist for over thirty years. He also enjoyed the love of thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Raymond is survived by Lucrecia to whom he was happily married for 60 wonderful years.
