Obituary of John Flaker

John Flaker, age 92, of Ridgewood died Wednesday, April 15, 2009. Born in Midland Park he lived in Ridgewood before recently moving back to Midland Park. John was a WW II Army veteran. Mr. Flaker served as the first Purchasing Agent for the Village of Ridgewood for over 30 years. He was a member of Westside Presbyterian Church, Ridgewood, the Hobbyist of Ridgewood and Fidelity Lodge #55, F & AM, Ridgewood, NJ. He was a founding and voted a life member of the 2 professional Purchasing Agent organizations of New Jersey. Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Jean I. Flaker, who was born in Ridgewood, his son, John R. Flaker of Fair Lawn and two nieces and one nephew. Visiting Saturday from 10-11 am at the Olthuis Funeral Home, 159 Godwin Ave. Midland Park, NJ, followed by the Funeral Service at 11 am. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
