Obituary of Jack Famularo

Dr. Jack Famularo of Mahwah, N.J., formerly of Englewood Cliffs, N.J., passed away on Monday, April 13, 2009 at his home. He will forever be missed by his family. However his love will remain with them for the rest of their lives, for he was the cornerstone of the family and brought much joy into their lives. Jack married Jeanne in 1955, and together they raised three loving daughters who gave them four beautiful grandchildren. Jack's greatest joy was seeing the success and happiness his children and their families achieved and spending many family vacations together. He received his Doctor of Engineering Science Degree from New York University, and served his country during the Korean War stationed at the Army Chemical Center in Maryland. He retired from teaching in 1996, after a distinguished career as a Professor of Chemical Engineering at N.Y.U. and Manhattan College, where he was voted "Teacher of the Year" by his students for several consecutive years. He also was a consultant for Exxon, Mobil Oil, and Hydroqual. He is survived by his wife Jeanne, his daughters Lisa Famularo of Red Bank, Donna Troop and her husband Michael of Ramsey, Gina Springer and her husband Chris of Mahwah, and four grandchildren, Jennifer and Melissa Troop and Kristen and Kyle Springer. Jack is also survived by his brother Richard and his wife Carol of Monroe, N.Y., and was predeceased by his parents Tony and Mary Famularo.
