Obituary of Douglas Hillman

Hillman, Douglas A. age 59 died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009. Born in Paterson, he was raised in Elmwood Park, graduated Ridgewood High School, Class of 68, before moving to Oakland 23 years ago. Doug was the founder of Lifestyle Builders, Oakland, NJ which he owned and operated for over 20 years. Surviving is his wife of 29 years, Joan (nee Lutke) Hillman of Oakland, his daughters, Jessica Hillman Harris of West Milford, Danielle and Gabrielle both of Oakland. His grandson, Ian Douglas Harris. Also surviving are his sisters, Susan Goetz of Sharon, MA, Christine Hillman of Bayville, N J and Teri-Beth Garrison of Jericho, VT. His brothers, Bruce Hillman of Hawthorne, NJ and Kevin Wright of Wake Forest, NC and his step-father, James B. Wright of Wake Forest, NC. He was predeceased by his brother, Arthur Hillman in 2007. The family will receive friends on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. A Service celebrating his life will be held on Monday at 11 am at New Life Ministries Contemporary Christian Reformed Church, 218 Irving Street, Midland Park, NJ. Private cremation will be held.
