Obituary of Joseph Jaffoni

Jaffoni, Joseph M. age 84 of Franklin Lakes, NJ died Thursday, February 19, 2009 in Naples, Florida. Born in New York, NY he resided for the last 44 years in Franklin Lakes. Mr. Jaffoni, a Colonel in the Air Force, served in World War II and the Korean War as well as in the Air Force Reserves. Following his service in the Air Force, he attended and graduated in 1951 from Syracuse University, where he was also a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Prior to his retirement, he was an insurance broker with Campbell Solberg Associates in New York, specializing in professional liability insurance for architects and engineers. Mr. Jaffoni was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church, Wyckoff, NJ. Surviving are his five children: Lisa Jaffoni of Lincoln Park, NJ; Joseph of New York, NY; Nancy Hoehler of New York, NY; Michael of Montague, NJ; and, David of Weehawken, NJ. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and two sisters, Madeline Mahoney of Macungie, PA and Angela McGowan of Whitehall, PA. He was predeceased by his wife of nearly fifty years, Concetta "Connie" Jaffoni, in 2007. Visiting is Sunday, February 22 from 2:00 p.m. �" 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. �" 9:00 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Prayers on Monday, February 23 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church, 700 Wyckoff Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ. Interment will take place immediately following the Mass, in Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes, NJ.
