Obituary of Sam Tufano

TUFANO, Sam age 72 of Park Ridge died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 8, 2009. Sam was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 2, 1936. He lived in Chestnut Ridge, NY before moving to Park Ridge 10 years ago. Sam was vice president of seafood for Atalanta Corp. in Elizabeth, NJ for the past 50 years. Surviving is his loving wife of 49 years, Barbara (nee Bruccoleri), his children, Geraldine Tufano of Glen Rock, Anthony Tufano and his wife Lynette of Upper Saddle River, Christopher Tufano and his wife Heather of Stamford, CT and Michael Tufano and his wife Wendy of Glen Rock. Sam also leaves his 9 adoring grandchildren, Victoria, Michael, Grace, Rocco, Joseph, Joey, Nicholas, Anthony and Christopher, and his brother Anthony and sister Rae Pecorella. Sam was pre-deceased by his son Joseph Tufano in 1988. Funeral mass will be held Thursday 11:00 am at the Church of the Presentation, 271 W. Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, NJ. Interment will follow at the Ascension Cemetery in Monsey, NY. Visiting is Tuesday and Wednesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ.
