Obituary of Robert Zuidema

ZUIDEMA, Robert John age 74 of Hawthorne, died peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2008 at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Paterson. Bob was born in Prospect Park on November 2, 1934. He lived in Hawthorne for the past 49 Years. Mr. Zuidema retired as Vice President of Atlantic Stewardship Bank in 1994. Bob was a member of the Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church in Wyckoff where he served as both Deacon and Treasurer. He served his country in the United States Army. Surviving is his loving wife of 51 years, Jacqueline (nee Downey), his devoted daughters Beth and her husband Peter Hagedoorn of Wayne, Bonnie and her husband Rich Perrotta of Haledon, Brenda and her husband Tim Strasser of Hawthorne and Barbie and her husband John Resch of Wyckoff. Bob also leaves 13 adoring grandchildren, Brian, Kimberly, Nicole, Richard, Gregory, Justin, Zachary, Normaida, Danielle, Jonathan, Jacqueline, Gabrielle and Brayden, his great grandson Zachary and his sister and brothers, Doris, Donald and John. Bob was pre-deceased by his daughter Brett in 1989. Funeral services will be held Friday, 10:30 am at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Interment will follow in the Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Visiting is Thursday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
