Obituary of Edward Connelly

CONNELLY, Edward A. age 71 of Pompton Plains, died peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at the Chilton Hospital in Pequannock. Ed was born in Paterson on February 5, 1937, he lived most of his life in Little Falls and Boca Raton, FL before moving to Cedar Crest Village in Pompton Plains. Ed was a 1958 graduate of Fordham University in the Bronx, NY. In his early career Ed was a school teacher for the Clifton Public School System. He also owned and operated the Edward A. Connelly Insurance Agency in Paterson. Ed was an avid golfer and loved spending time at Monmouth Race Track. He also enjoyed the time he spent with family and many good friends. Surviving are his devoted daughters, Cheryl Nichols of Hardyston, NJ and Leslie Donato of Wyckoff. Ed also leaves his adoring grandchildren, Christopher, Danielle, Nicolette and Jaclyn, his brother Brian F. Connelly of Bloomingdale and his former wife Patricia Connelly. Ed will always be remembered by his dearest and long time friend and former wife Marjorie Kincaid of Wall Twp. Funeral mass will be held Monday 10:30 am at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 17 Pompton Avenue, Pompton Lakes. Visiting will be Sunday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ.
