Obituary of Rudolph Reitmeier

REITMEIER, Rudolph "Rudy", age 93, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 5, 2008. Born in Weehawken, he grew up in Wyckoff and lived for over 50 years in Ridgewood. Rudy enjoyed a successful career as an engineer with Curtis Wright Corporation where he worked for over 40 years. He also was associated with Mac Hughs, Inc. as a sales representative for over 50 years. He was a member of the Hobbyist Unlimited Club of Ridgewood where he developed many lasting friendships. He particularly enjoyed playing golf and bowling. He is survived by his beloved wife June to whom he was married for 62 wonderful years, his dear son Glenn of Hawthorne and his brother-in-law Daniel and wife Patricia of Vero Beach, FL. Rudy is also survived by three nieces and one nephew and a very special friend of the family Dorothea Murray of Passaic. He was predeceased by his sister Rose Quackenbush. Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 2-4 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (www.vpfh.com) 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. Funeral services will be on Monday, 10:00 AM at the funeral home followed by interment at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
