Obituary of William Abma

ABMA, William "Willy" age 71 of Wyckoff died peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2008 at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Willy was born in Wyckoff on May 15, 1937 and was a lifelong resident. He owned and operated Abma Nursery until 2006 when he retired. Willy attended the Faith Community Christian Reformed Church in Wyckoff and was a member of the New Jersey Farm Bureau. Surviving are his children Terri Lynn Abma of Columbia, MD, Sharon Anne Donten and her husband Craig of Lafayette, NJ and William R. Abma and his wife Rebecca of Midland Park. Willy also leaves his grandson Daniel Abma, and his brothers James of Wyckoff and Henry of Troy, PA. Willy was pre-deceased by his wife Linda (nee Welsch), and his brothers Sam and Fred. Funeral services will be held Friday 10:30 am from the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Interment will follow in the Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery. Visiting is Thursday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Touch the World Ministries, 1 Maple Street, Allendale, NJ 07401.
